Very nice step by step sequence. I notice they didn't re-install the roof window. I bet there's a sneaky Velux on the other side.

C & E - absolutely; where is HSE? The couvreur moved about with the greatest care, believe me.
Susan - Just say the word Velux in the presence of Mme. Bartelemy (BdF) and wait for the bang....
No under-slate insulation either or breather membrane (Tyvek), or...

Having been to Richelieu a few times on our trip to France, I find your posts very informative. I tend to go back to it often as research as musch to read each new post.
I was awarded the Liebster Blog award from one of my readers and have included you in my most favorite blogs.
I hope you don't mind.
I'm proud to think someone offered it to us.
We are looking forward to being back in France and the Loire for Sue's 60th Birthday and maybe another visit to Richelieu while staying in Chinon.

Glad you like the Red Eminence, Leon & Sue. And well done for your own Liebster Award. Well deserved.
You are, in fact, far from the only Aussies who like poor lost Richelieu - you should start a club! Just don't tell too many people about it!

Hey, good job on the roof repair. Keeping in line with the Touraine manner with crests is a nice touch. That way, your new roof will blend well with the immediate environment. With the repairs completed, you will have more time to enjoy the wonderful sunny weather.

Not much sunny weather at present, Mariam!

The new roof made your house more appealing and pleasing to the eyes. Now that’s a job well done! It definitely pays to hire the services of good roofing contractors! Don’t miss the chance to have regular preventive maintenance, so your roof will last long.

The roofers did a good job with replacing the old roof. You can see how organized and careful they were during the process. The new color suits the house well. =)

Wow! It is amazing how the roofer did all that in just under a day. Replacing shingles can be hard, but reroofing a large section of the roof is even harder. However, they actually made it look like an easy job between the two of them. They certainly are cut out for the job!
