The cardinal duc scrubs up well...

the statue of the cardinal duc on the place Cardinal, in front of the porte de Châtellerault

before...
after...

This newly-cleaned statue stands between the cité idéale and the domainal parc and château.
It was carved in 1828 by sculptor Claude Ramey (29 Oct 1754 - 4 June 1838)
and formerly located on the Pont de la Concorde in Paris.
Now maintained by the French 2nd Regiment of Marines
 of whom A-J d P was
and is now a patron.

Statue looks fantastic since I last saw it! I am returning to Richelieu in August and cannot wait!! A friend of mine has a house and has started his own blog:

It is worth a look and has some funny stories of an Irishman's escapades in Richelieu and surrounds!!

@Anonymous

Yeah, I was about to say that also. I was looking at the photo and analysing if its 2 different statue but the caption said, before and after.

i think they clean it because there was some festival hanging on.

it would be better if there are more description about the photo like where is that place, and what even are they having and some abouts.
