what is the purpose of this web-site?
This web-log site is an English language sign-post to the current developments in this unique IDEAL CITY built originally for
Armand-Jean du Plessis, cardinal duc de Richelieu,
to designs of Jacques Lemercier and his brothers between the years 1631 and 1642 : to British readers in the rule of Charles I, and just before the English Civil War: to North Americans at the time of the French colonial initiatives in 'Acadie' (Nova Scotia) and of the English in Virginia.
The pretty walled and moated seventeenth century town of RICHELIEU remains today the most complete French urban design project of the age of King Louis XIII and the stories of Alexandre Dumas' THE THREE MUSKETEERS.

i saw an image of "la duchesse d'aiguillon" on the september 10th 2007 post(the oval black & white one). i'm looking for a high resolution image like this one. could you be any help in founding such an image? or may be you could tell me in what book you found it.
it is very important for me to find one. i would appreciate your help.

The image to which you refer was found on Google by using a Google images search. Have you noticed that the image size increases if you click on the image in the post. That gives a larger version. Otherwise you should retrace my steps by asking Google Images for 'duchesse aiguillon' and see what it pulls up. Once you find the source itself, you may be able to find a larger version still. Good luck and thanks for your interest in the Cardinal's favourite niece.
